Want to throw the best birthday party for your kid?
The pop/rock song needs a concert hall with laser shows, whilst confetti, glitter explosions, smoke, flame, and other pyrotechnics. The classical music compositions need a glamorous opera hall with large elegant glass chandeliers, red curtains, and good acoustics. The rap verse needs a good MC battle arena! And what does a birthday song need to be performed in the best possible way? It needs to be performed in an environment that celebrant and guests will like the most! And what is the key ingredient of a party magic potion? It is a good party theme!
When you are choosing the kids party themes, there are several things you have to think over first! Those things are: 1) if it is boy or girl, 2) his/her age and 3) last but not the least, celebrant’s and guests’ taste! Therefore, in this article, we shall give you a variety of party themes for every age and gender!
So, let’s start making a cake! Just kidding, we are far away from the cake. Let’s get started!

Unisex theme parties
Now here are some themes that are applicable for both boys and girls. In case that some of those themes fit your child’s taste, we would highly recommend you especially if it is not boys only or a girls-only party.
Still, there is one thing that you should be aware of while choosing a child party theme! Every child is individual and gender is often not the only thing that you should have in mind when you are picking a party theme. For example, some girls like skateboarding, laser tags, video games, or car races. Also, some boys like musicals, fondues, or Alice in wonderland (or any other children classic with a female protagonist)! If that is the case with your child, respect his/her interest and try to convert girls/boys theme party into a unisex one (it is not rocket science as it sounds, you may do it by just do it by changing decoration or dominant theme color from rose to blue or vice versa). After all, it is his/her special day and he/she should feel special!!!

Now it is time to make a cake
and not just it! When you pick up the theme, you can go on and choose the decoration and all other stuff that must-haves of kids birthday party! Still, before going on there are a few additional tips about choosing the theme that we would like to give you! Here they are:
- Think of the budget! Some themes are more DIY and budget-friendly, while some of them require a little bit of extra cash! Make a good calculation and be aware that the life after party exists (scientifically proven)!
- Think of the time! Some theme parties take more time to be organized and be assured that you have started planing, choosing, and organizing on time!
- Give a personal touch! To make the party person, there are two steps to follow! First, go through the lists above and think which one fits your child and his/her guests the best! Second, even if you are making the chosen theme step-by-step described in some manual there is always something you can do to make it more personal (e.g. use your child’s favorite color, heroes, etc.)
- If you are not into personalized things or nothing is coming up to your mind, don’t worry! In that case, go back to the basics and stick with the classical children theme!
- Think of season and weather (especially if it is an outdoor theme)!
- Last but not the least, talk with your children! It is good for them to, according to their age, get more and more involved in the organization process! The organizational skills and sense of responsibility are something that children should be introduced to from an early age and something that will be learned for life! Also, if you are not sure about the theme, talk with your friend! Two heads are better than one!
Happy birthday to your kid! May the party be great, may all his/her wishes come true! Cheers to all the beautiful years that are about to come! We hope we help you a little bit and that this article will continue to help you as your kid is growing older and older!
